Write the Brief
Create a book and describe it: what it is about, who it is for, what it should feel like. This is the single highest-leverage field in the whole application - the title, the structure and every section of prose are generated from it.
Set the book's Style & Language at the same time, so register and output language are fixed before anything is written. Both can be improved with AI if you would rather start from a draft than a blank field.

Add source documents
Upload the material the book should be built on - reports, transcripts, notes, prior drafts. Scribith indexes them and searches them while drafting, which is the difference between prose that is about your subject and prose that is from it.
Existing work can come in whole: EPUB upload and Scrivener import bring an entire manuscript across, and Analyse a Book reads a finished draft and answers questions about it before you decide what to change.

Generate the structure
Press ✨ Generate structure and Scribith proposes a chapter and scene outline from the Brief. You control how big that outline gets.
Then it is yours: rename, add, delete and rearrange in the binder until the shape is the book you actually intend to write. Story-structure templates are available if you would rather start from a known skeleton. Every move can be undone.

Draft the prose
Write a one-line synopsis on each section - this is what the generator reads. Then draft: one section at a time while you are thinking, or the whole book at once with 📖 Generate whole book when the outline is settled.
Prose length is set per section, chapter introductions are generated separately, and any passage can be revised with an instruction in your own words. Nothing is final; every section keeps its previous versions.

Revise, research and check
Research, notes and sketch panels sit beside the text so context never leaves the screen. Focus Mode clears everything else away, and still lets you move between sections without exiting.
When the draft is complete, run Manuscript Health: it reads the finished text and reports on pacing, point of view, continuity and tone, with findings you can work through one by one.

Publish
Export to Markdown or Word with section numbering and a generated table of contents. Illustrate the book, adjust and suggest covers, and export the image set alongside the text.
The same manuscript can also become derived work - blog posts written inside Scribith, or a presentation built from the book or part of it.

The generator is not the interesting part. The interesting part is that the structure stays visible, the source material stays attached, and the decisions stay yours - so the effort goes into the argument rather than into keeping track of it.
